Maternity Jeans

Like most Australians, I love my favourite pair of denim jeans and didn't want to have to go without a fabulous pair of maternity jeans throughout my pregnancy and during the post pregnancy months. With so many styles of maternity jeans available from online maternity clothing stores and boutiques throughout Australia you won't have to compromise your maternity fashion style during your pregnancy. Whether you like bootcut, straight leg or slim leg maternity jeans, choosing a fabulous pair of stylish maternity jeans or two will extend your maternity clothing wardrobe so you can mix and match them with your favourite maternity tops and tunics.

Maternity jeans come in various styles - some maternity jeans are designed to be worn over your growing belly, others are designed to be worn under your belly, whilst other  maternity jeans have a belly band attatched and can be worn either way depending on your mood. Our pic when it comes to maternity jeans are those with a belly band attatched. During the first two trimesters of my pregnancy I preferred to wear my maternity jeans with the belly band over my bump whilst in the last trimester when my bump felt huge I found it really comfortable to roll the belly band down under my bump. I also wore my maternity jeans this way for approximately 5 months after the birth of my baby.

Motherland stocks slim leg, straight leg and bootleg maternity jeans at very affordable prices. Our signature maternity jeans, pictured above are available to purchase online now . They are made from a great quality denim fabric and are so flattering for all shapes and sizes. MotherLand maternity is dedicated to providing affordable maternity clothes and affordable breastfeeding clothes to pregnant girls and new mums throughout the world. We hope we can make it more affordable for you to enjoy a stylish pregnancy. xxx

Feel Good Throughout Your Pregnancy

Although you may be experiencing some typical pregnancy symtoms such as morning sickness during your pregnancy, there are some things that you can do to help yourself look and feel your best throughout your pregnancy. Drinking plenty of water, engaging in regular light exercise, eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of rest and pampering yourself from time to time will help.

I loved taking walks along the beach and yoga classes throughout my pregnancy. They helped relax me and allowed me to reap the benefits of exercise. Light exercise throughout your pregnancy will also help you regain your pre pregnancy body after the birth of your baby more easily. When exercising during your pregnancy be sure to choose maternity clothes made from soft, stretchy fabrics that will move with your body and regain their shape afterwards. Maternity leggings made from cotton jersey or bamboo jersey fabrics are a great choice. You can pair them with maternity tanks suitable for exercise. A comfortable maternity hoodie is a great choice for warming up and down. Some maternity leggings have a soft elastic waist and are designed to be worn over your growing bump, whilst other maternity leggings are low cut and designed to be worn under your belly. You can then pair your maternity leggins with long maternity tops to stretch your maternity clothing budget further. Choosing maternity clothes that you can mix and match will extend your maternity fashion wardrobe further and save you money.

HELP WITH MORNING SICKNESS

Morning sickness can happen to any pregnant woman. Some of the old wives’ tales tend to hint that morning sickness happens more if you’re pregnant with a girl but that isn’t always the case.

It’s important to know that morning sickness can occur at any time of the day and at any stage throughout your pregnancy, not just ‘in the morning’. It tends to show itself more so in the morning and that’s where it gets its
name from but it can strike at any time really.

Here are some easy ways to help curb morning sickness throughout your pregnancy.

Eat throughout the day

It’s very important to not forget to eat, even if you’re feeling nauseous. Your body is in the process of making a baby and it needs all the healthy nutrition that it can get.

It can be extremely tempting to not eat at all if you’re experiencing feelings of nausea, but don’t forget that you and your growing baby do need to get nutrients to each other in order for your bodies to work harmoniously together.

Keep it simple

The best foods to eat if morning sickness is setting you back is bland foods like crackers (water crackers, saltines, wheat thins, rice cakes), plain cereal, and carbohydrate-rich items like toast, pretzels, muslie bars.
Greasy, fatty foods may feel good in the moment but will soon heighten your nauseating feelings so it’s best to steer clear of those.

Slow things down

Moving too fast can also trigger your morning sickness into a frenzied state, so pace yourself and don’t rush.
This slower state can be a tremendous help, especially at the beginning of your day. Taking some extra time to fully wake up and start your day on a slower scale can help you, your mindset, and your body get morning sickness under control before it starts to take over.

Know your trigger smells

Some women experience an increased sensitivity to smells while they are pregnant. If you’re one of them, then get to know your trigger smells avoid them when possible.

Reach for some everyday things

Some women have found relief from morning sickness in everyday things like ginger and lemons. It can’t hurt to try them, right?

Pour yourself a tall glass of ginger ale, munch on some gingersnaps, or make a warm cup of ginger tea and see if any of those help call down the nauseousness.

To incorporate lemons into the mix you can try a tall glass of homemade lemonade, squeeze some lemon juice into your water, brew some lemon tea, or try lighting a lemon scented candle. Ginger and lemons are easy, cheap, and natural ways to help get you through the morning sickness.

 It’s very important to stay hydrated throughout your entire pregnancy and even more so if you’ve been vomiting. Severe dehydration can mean a trip to the emergency room, so it’s best to take preventative measures and always keep water with you regardless of where you are.

 If you’re feeling like nothing is helping you with these feelings of nausea, then call your doctor. There are medications you can take during pregnancy that can help lessen the morning sickness.

Always do your own research and write down your concerns and questions. Bring them with you to your doctor’s visit. Working together with your doctor is always the best way to help overcome pregnancy concerns.

How To Tell Your Boss You're Pregnant

Unless you work in a fantastic and understanding environment, telling your boss that you are expecting is never easy. Rumours and notions may start flying around that you won’t be coming back after you have the baby, the question of whom will cover for you while you’re on maternity leave, and will you come back as committed to your job as you were before the baby are all concerns that sometimes run through your boss’ heads.

Here are three ways that can help you get the timing and delivery of the big news right for you.

COME PREPARED

Before you even attempt to decide on a day and time to spill your big news, do your own research.

Read your company’s maternity leave policy in their handbook and do some online research as well, to get to know your state’s laws concerning pregnancy, maternity leave, and pay for when you’re on leave.

Keep a detailed list of your findings and highlight important points that you may want to bring up during the initial tell-all.

HAVE A PLAN DURING YOUR PREGNANCY

The nature of pregnancy itself is unpredictable, so it’s not feasible to assume that all will go according to plan and you won’t have to miss any work, or leave early, or take some time off on your doctors’ orders.

Put a plan into place that you can present to your boss. Think of who can cover on short notice if nausea sets in unexpectantly or you need to schedule a doctor’s visit during lunch.

Luck always favors the prepared, and while it’s almost impossible to know how the next nine months will treat you, it’s better to come with a plan or an idea in mind to make the upcoming months as easy as possible for all parties involved.

12 WEEKS SEEMS TO BE THE MAGIC TIME TO SPILL THE NEWS

You don’t have to by any means, wait until you are twelve weeks pregnant to spread your good news with your colleagues, but twelve weeks is usually when your risk of early miscarriage tends to decline. About 80% of miscarriages happen in the first twelve weeks of pregnancy.

Keep in mind that, depending on your size, you most likely will start showing somewhat at around twenty weeks, and often much earlier for 2nd and 3rd pregnancies, so let that timeline gently guide your decision should you wish to break the news a little later than the twelve weeks.

Your Post Pregnancy Body

I was flicking through some magazines on the weekend and came across some photos of some celebrity mums looking fantastic in bikin's just a few months after giving birth. I sat there wondering how they did it - hours a day in the gym (a bit diffcult with a newborn baby), great genes or some fancy photoshopping. Maybe I was just feeling a bit envious ..... either way, it takes most of us a while to regain our pre-pregnancy bodies after giving birth. It took me about 5 months after my first baby, about 10 months after my second baby and I am still working on it 2 years after the birth of my third baby. Although I am back to my pre-pregnancy clothing size I do have to choose clothing styles that hide my muffin top.

For this reason, the MotherLand maternity clothing range has been designed with the post pregnancy body in mind. Our maternity clothing range is designed to cater to the changing shape of your body during pregnancy and also look great after your baby is born. Our maternity wrap dresses, evening maternity dresses and maternity sleepwear all look great post pregnancy too. Our maternity pants are available in a few different designs. Some have adjustable waistbands, others have belly bands attatched that can be worn over your bump or folded down and worn underneath, whilst others have a wide elasticwaistband that sits comfortably under your belly - all of which are suitable to be worn post pregnancy.

What's Your Maternity Clothing Style ?

Being pregnant can be a great excuse to experiment with fashion while you have fun dressing up your bump. We asked one of our customers to tell us about their maternity clothing style ....... I loved dressing up my bump during all of my pregnancies. I chose maternity dresses that I could dress up or down to stretch my maternity clothing budget further. I also felt more daring with my maternity clothes feeling great in more feminine styles, adding a few more frills than I would normally wear and I loved wearing bold, bright colours. I also chose maternity clothes that I thought would be suitable to wear post pregnancy as I knew it would take a while to regain my post pregnancy shape. I had an overwhelming desire to dress up my bump.

I purchased 2 pairs of maternity jeans. Jeans are such a staple in most peoples wardrobes so a great pair of comfortable maternity jeans are a must. I chose maternity jeans that had a belly band attached which I continued to wear for 3 or 4 moths after my baby was born. I just rolled the belly band down and they were really comfortable. I paired my maternity leggings with soft, stretchy maternity tanks and a maternity hoodie for exercising in and then wore them with long maternity tops and flats for shopping and casual outings. I also wore my maternity leggings under dresses with boots in winter. There are loads of ways to wear maternity leggings. I also transformed some of my summer maternity dresses into winter outfits by wearing a long sleeve maternity top underneath with my leggings and boots. My most versatile outfit was my short sleeve maternity wrap dress (which I still wear now). I wore it in summer with flats or heels and then I added a long sleeve turtleneck underneath in winter. I also bought a comfortable pair of maternity pyjamas which I really appreciated during my hospital stay when I was breastfeeding with guests dropping in.

Comfortable Maternity Pyjamas

Being pregnant and caring for a newborn baby can be completely exhausting for any pregnant women or mother of a small baby, especially when you also have older children to care for. I think pregnant women throughout the world would agree that a comfortable nights sleep can make all the difference. This is especially important during the later stages of your pregnancy and in the first few months of your newborns life, when changes to a pregnant womens body can take its’ toll physically. Any new mum who is feeding a newborn baby every 3-4 hours would also agree that feeling comfortable whilst sleeping and breastfeeding is a high priority. I recall the feeling of complete exhilaration when I finally had six hours of uninterrupted sleep when each of my children starting sleeping longer between breastfeeds.

There is such an extensive range of maternity clothing available now and investing in some comfortable maternity sleepwear is well worth the money. Whether you prefer maternity pyjamas or a comfortable maternity nightie there is an array of styles to choose from. If you want to get the best value for your maternity sleepwear purchase the girls at motherLand recommend that you choose a pair that is also designed for breastfeeding. This will ensure that you are able to breastfeed comfortable which makes the world of difference when you are feeding late at night, early in the morning or if unexpected guest drop by. We also recommend that you choose maternity sleepwear made from great quality, stretchy fabrics that will cater perfectly to the changing shape of your body throughout your pregnancy as your belly expands and then after your baby is born. Maternity pyjamas pants vary in style – some are designed to be worn over your baby bump, some are designed to be worn under your belly whilst others are designed to worn either over your bump or folded down and worn underneath. MotherLand has recently introduced a luxurious bamboo maternity nightie (picture above) which is also designed for breastfeeding. It is made from a super soft, luxuriously comfortable fabric and would also make the perfect gift for your favourite pregnant girl to pack in her hospital bag.
